This site is the companion to the Ron Con Rails YouTube channel — a place for show notes, project write-ups, and tools related to the videos. The channel is about railfanning: watching trains and tracking them. My home base is Galesburg, IL (GBB), which puts me on the Southwest Chief and California Zephyr routes — two of Amtrak’s long-distance workhorses — plus the Illinois Zephyr and Carl Sandburg running the Chicago–Quincy corridor. ...
